662,995. Electric filters. RADIO CORPORATION OF AMERICA. May 27, 1949 [May 28, 1948], No. 14246/49. Class 40 (viii). [Also in Group XL (c)] An intervalve coupling circuit comprises a pair of inductively-tuned circuits coupled by means of an impedance in the form of a seriesresonant circuit resonating at a higher frequency. Variable inductances 28, 40, Fig. 1, resonate with the inherent valve capacities 30, 48, respectively, and are. coupled by means of inductance 36 and capacity 38, the condenser 32 comprising a D.C. blocking element. The series circuit 36, 38 resonates at a frequency above that to which the coupled circuits tune and is utilized to obtain a constant bandwidth, to reduce the response to image frequencies in a superheterodyne receiver, and to reduce oscillator radiation. The Specification describes a tuning arrangement for a television receiver, Fig. 2 (not shown), which embodies the invention (see Group XL (c)).
