[Class 40 (iii)] In a superheterodyne receiver image suppression is effected in a band-pass filter by a condenser connected from the input to a point P in the first circuit of the filter such that the point is connected to the other input terminal both through elements coupled to the second circuit of the filter and through circuit elements which substantially determine the tuning of the circuit. Fig. 1 shows an aerial coupled to the first tuned circuit by capacity C3 and the mutual inductance L0, L1 and by capacity C4. Operation over two wave-bands may be obtained by the addition of loading coils and an additional coupling condenser which are short-circuited on the shorter wave-band, Fig. 3 (not shown). Fig. 2 shows a two wave-band arrangement involving less switches in which the tuned circuits are capacitatively coupled by condensers C<1>5, C<11>5 and a series coil L4 aids in the image frequency suppression.
