[Class 40 (v)] In a supersonic heterodyne receiver the coupling between first and second signal frequency valves comprises a circuit tunable by a variable capacity and having in series with the inductance a trap circuit tuned to the intermediate frequency. In a multi-band receiver the trap circuit LT, CT may be provided only on that waveband which is close to the intermediate frequency. The inductance L3 may be connected to a tapping in the trap circuit and the waveband switch may short circuit the unused contacts 2 ... 5. In this way instability due to the tuned circuit having a high impedance at the intermediate frequency is avoided and whistles due to pick-up at the intermediate frequency are prevented.
