Y.].-(Philco Radio & Television Corporation ; Tioga Street, Philadelphia, U.S.A.) May 20, 1935, No. 14721. [Class 40 (v)] In a superheterodyne receiver, the output circuit of a radio frequency amplifier is provided with means to prevent interference at frequencies in the vicinity of the intermediate frequency used, and switching means is provided to adapt the signal transfer means to one of a plurality of wave-bands. Fig. 1 shows an acceptor circuit LC in parallel with the intervalve transformer T. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), the inductance L is formed as an extension of the transformer primary winding. In a multi-band receiver, Fig. 3 (not shown), the acceptor circuit may be connected to the waveband switch and the inductance L is given a low distributed capacity. Fig. 4 shows a three wave-range receiver in which the acceptor circuit is short circuited on the highest frequency range and the coupling transformer on this range is given a low impedance so as to be ineffective when in series on the other wave ranges.
