Abstract
473,623. Wireless receiving systems. KOLSTER-BRANDES, Ltd., and SMYTH, C. N. April 17, 1936, No. 11032. [Class 40 (v)] A dipole aerial D is connected through a transmission line L to a centre-tapped primary short-wave coil P coupled to a tuned secondary coil S. Connected between the centre tapping of coil P and an earth line 3 are medium and long wave primary coils P1, P2 coupled to similar secondary coils S1, S2, connected in series with the coil S, the three latter coils being shunted by a tuning condenser C. For receiving short waves the coils P1, P2, S1, S2, are short circuited by switches 2, 2a the aerial D acting as a true dipole. For other wavebands the aerial D acts as a T-aerial with single down-lead, the coils P2, S2 being short circuited by switches 1, 1a for medium waves, while for long waves all the switches are opened, as shown.
