Abstract

494,319. Wireless receiving systems. GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION. Jan. 15, 1937, No. 1250. Void. Convention date, Jan. 16, 1936. [Class 40 (v)] An inductive element 36, Fig. 3, connected between the aerial 60 and the first tuned circuit of a radio receiver, is varied co-operatively with the tuning condenser 10 to improve the signal strength provided by the aerial over the frequency range of the receiver. The coil 36, Fig. 1, is secured to the end plate of the case of the tuning condenser 10. A cam-like member 44, preferably of copper is mounted on the projecting end of the rotor shaft 24 in inductive relation with the coil and so varies the effective inductance of the coil as the condenser rotates. A cover 50 preferably shields the parts 36, 44.
