Abstract
499,425. Valve circuits for wireless reception. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and ESPLEY, D. C. Nov. 4, 1937, No. 30250. [Class 40 (v)] In a receiver for a carrier frequency exceeding 20 Mc. particularly for television, to prevent radiation by the detector, following an intermediate-frequency stage, of combination frequencies of the carrier and local oscillator which lie within the range of the modulated carrier and might be picked up by the earlier stages of the receiver, a frequency-selective element having a high impedance for the unwanted frequencies and a low impedance for the signal frequencies is connected in series with the non-linear impedance of the detector. The Figure shows a double-diode detector in which each diode path has a frequency-selective element Z1, Z2 in series, the output impedances 7, 6 being operative alternately. A further selective element Z<1> in the cathode lead may be used in addition to or instead of Z1 and Z2.
