[Class 40 (v)] A short wave repeating station comprises a common receiving and retransmitting antenna system 13, such as that described in Specification 392,201, coupled through a transformer 14 with the tuned anode circuit 15 of a pair of push-pull connected valves 18, 19 cross-coupled through condensers 26 and supplied with quenching oscillations from a source 27 applied through condenser 30 to the grid coil 21. The signals may be monitored by an amplifier 24 and receiver 25 coupled to the common anode circuit through transformer 23 and responsive to the incidental demodulation currents present therein. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), the quenching oscillations are applied to the anode circuit.
