Abstract

674,798. Multiplex radio signaling; superregenerative receivers. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Sept. 7, 1950 [Sept. 10, 1949], No. 22059/50. Class 40 (v). A two-channel receiver, particularly for sound and vision modulated carriers, comprises two self-quenching super-regenerative detectors, which synchronize each other. The valves 1, 2 are connected as Hartley oscillators with tuned circuits 3, 3<SP>1</SP> respectively coupled to two aerials or a single aerial, and quenched by the operation of grid condensers 6, 6<SP>1</SP> and resistances 5, 5<SP>1</SP>, respectively. Coils 8, 8<SP>1</SP> in their cathode circuits are mutually coupled, so that a voltage variation at one cathode produces a voltage variation of opposite polarity at the other cathode to synchronize the two quenching frequencies. The two demodulated signals are derived from filters 9, 10, respectively, in the individual anode circuits.
