385,525. Valve circuits for wireless reception. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd., Marconi House, Strand, London.-(Assignees of Roberts, W. van B. ; 155, Hodge Road, Princeton, New Jersey, U.S.A.) June 13, 1932, No. 16708. Convention date, June 12, 1931. Addition to 341,786. [Class 40 (v).] In a super-regenerative receiver of the type described in the parent Specification, in which the quenching frequency is arranged to render the valves alternately operative both the quenching frequency and the signal are applied to the valves in push-pull while the valves are each back-coupled in opposite senses. Fig. 1 shows an arrangement in which reaction coils 8, 81 are coupled to the signal receiving circuit L1, L2C, and the quenching frequency F is applied across condenser 3. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), the oscillator F is directly connected across the condenser 3 and is shunted by a resistance, an adjustable tapping on which is connected to the grid bias battery. In this modification a single reaction coil is used arranged in the common anode circuit of the valves. In a further modification, the quenching frequency is applied to the valve anodes, Fig. 4, which simplifies the arrangement of the grid circuit.
