[Class 40 (v)] A super-regenerative radio receiver comprises a tetrode or pentode valve 1 with the anode circuit 19 tuned and back-coupled to the inner-grid circuit 18 for regeneration of the incoming signal wave applied at 15, and with another branch 16 of the anode circuit tuned to the desired quenching frequency and back-coupled to an outer grid circuit 17 for generating that frequency. The valve may operate as a detector or a radiofrequency amplifier.
