563,520. Wireless receiving circuits; selective networks. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd. March 31, 1943, No. 5162. Convention date, Jan. 7, 1941. [Classes 40 (iii) and 40 (v)] A coupling circuit for the I.F. stage of a dualpurpose receiver comprises a pair of circuits L1, C1 and L2, C2 tuned to a high I.F. (say, 4.3 megacycles) for frequency-modulated waves and coupled by means of a common capacity C3 so as to give a band-pass effect, the capacity being tuned by an inductance L3 to a low I.F. (say, 455 kilocycles) for amplitude-modulated signals. At that frequency, the circuit acts as an anti-resonant circuit, the elements C1, L1, C2, L2 being without effect. An example of values for the components is given in the Specification.
