Abstract
887,615. Parametric amplifiers. TELEFUNKEN G.m.b.H. April 27, 1960 [April 30, 1959], No. 14757/60. Class 40 (9). In a parametric amplifier comprising a non- linear reactance R (e.g. a semi-conductor diode) a load La and condensers C1, C2 in parallel resonance circuits 1, 2 tuned to the signal and idling frequencies, the inductance and damping of the idling circuit are provided by impedance transformation. In Fig. 1, the coupling of the signal source G1 to the inductor L1 is variable to allow bandwith adjustment. The pump generator G2 is coupled to the idling circuit 2 by a transformer T. In Fig. 2, the individual circuits are constituted by parallel wire lines and are tuned by shorting stubs S1 S2, S3. Shorting stubs may also be used in an arrangement using coaxial lines.
