Abstract

773,548. Resonant coupling circuits. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. Sept. 30, 1955 [Oct. 1, 1954], No. 28357/54. Class 40 (8). [Also in Group XL (c)] A resonant coupling circuit comprises a parallel resonant circuit including an inductor 1 and capacitor 2, a second inductor 3 connected across a circuit having a low output impedance, e.g. the aerial circuit 5, 6, 7, and a third inductor 4 connected across a circuit having a low input impedance, e.g. a transistor amplifier stage 9, the arrangement being such that the mutual inductances between the inductor 1 and the inductors 3, 4 are each less than the self-inductance of the inductor 1 whilst the mutual inductance between the inductors 3 and 4 is negligible. Signals close to the resonant frequency are trans. ferred from the aerial to the transistor via the resonant circuit, the selectivity of which is not greatly affected by the low impedance of the output and input circuits. Since inductors 3 and 4 are not directly coupled there is no transfer of frequencies removed from the resonant frequency.
