Abstract

779,553. Impedance networks. N. S. F., Ltd. (Oak Mfg. Co.). Sept. 22, 1955 [June 22, 1954], No. 18268/54. Class 40 (8). [Also in Group XL (c)] A band-pass coupling for the R.F. stage of a V.H.F. receiver comprises two tuned circuits, the inductances of the tuned circuits and the inductive coupling between them being provided by an integral metal member, Fig. 2, whose arms A, B, C constitute respectively the inductances LA, LB, LC. One tuned circuit is formed by the capacitor C3 together with inductors L1, LA, LC and the other by capacitor C6 together with inductors L2, LB, LC. The inductor LC, common to both circuits, provides mutual inductance between them and together with capacitor C4 determines the degree of coupling. Tuning is effected by ganged switches S1A, SIB which provide incremental variation (indicated conventionally on Fig. 1) of the inductors L1, L2 which in practice are constituted by a series of small inductors. The arm C of the inductive metal member is connected to the chassis of the receiver by means of projections 1. The arms A and B are shaped to facilitate connection of leads.
