Abstract
627,238. Valve circuits for radio reception; frequency modulation. BENDIX AVIATION CORPORATION. Nov. 7, 1946, No. 33167. Convention date, Dec. 13, 1945. [Class 40 (v)] Instability in the I.F. stages of a receiver, e.g. a F.M. receiver, which comprises both amplifying and limiting stages is prevented by the interposition of a frequency multiplying stage in the chain. The Figure shows in block schematic form a F.M. receiver in which instability due to coupling between the output and input circuits of the I.F. amplifier stages 12 and 13 is prevented by a frequency-multiplying stage 18 which ensures that the output and input signals are at different frequencies. A second multiplier may be introduced between the I.F. amplifier stage 13 and the limiter stage 14 and the gain may be increased by additional I.F. amplifier stages each being separated from the adjacent one by a further multiplier stage.
