465,118. Valve amplifying circuits. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., and MYNALL, D. J. Oct. 30, 1935, No. 29973. [Class 40 (v)] An amplifier for television scanning-voltages is provided with a high load resistance R in its anode circuit, and loss of amplification of the highest frequency components of the scanning- voltages is avoided by inserting a suitablydesigned impedance (such as r, c) in the cathode lead. The loss at high frequencies is due to unwanted capacity (represented by a condenser C) between anode and earth and is of greater extent when the resistance R is high. This loss is overcome by inserting an impedance in the cathode lead, which should be approximately of the same kind as the complex impedance in the anode circuit. In the case shown the product rc should approximate to the product RC. A second valve in push-pull may be fed from a portion of the resistance R.
