Abstract
837,643. Textile drafting arrangements. CASABLANCAS HIGH DRAFT CO. Ltd. June 27, 1958 [Oct. 9, 1957], No. 31569/57. Class 120(2) In apparatus having the top-rollers loaded and guided by an arm pivotable about a rear mounting, a floating spring- influenced member bears in the working position between an abutment at the rear of the apparatus and the arm, so that the arm is prevented from lifting beyond a predetermined position. The member may take the form shown at 20, when the head of a screw 21 bears against the upper wall of the arm behind the shaft 9 on which the arm is mounted; the screw is adjustable in plates 20a, 20b which bear on shoulders 16d and carry a trigger 24 pressed by a spring 25. The shoulders 16d are provided on a collar 16 composed of two spaced-apart plates riveted together and mounted on the shaft 9 by a key 16b and a set screw 18 bearing on a flat 9b, a nut 18a in recesses 16c in the plates being provided. When the pressure is momentarily relieved from the screw 21 the trigger can be manipulated to move the plate 20a from the shoulders 16d so that the arm can be swung to an inoperative position where the plate 20a engages a second pair of shoulders 16e on the plates 16. With the arrangement shown, the position of the plates 16 on the shaft 9 and therefore of the shoulders 16d can be accurately set: moreover with the parts 16d, 20a disengaged, the screw 21 can be minutely adjusted through an aperture 23. In the operative position the head of the screw 21 is prevented from accidental rotation by a pad 22.
