Abstract

730,041. Textile drafting rotter weighting arrangements. ESTIRAJES BALMES SOC. ANON. Sept. 17, 1952 [Sept. 29, 1951], No. 23304/52. Classes 120(2) and 120(3). Pressure is applied to the upper rollers of drawing mechanism by a pressure arm in the form of a casing having a single adjustable spring combined with means for transmitting pressure to the rollers and means for removing the pressure from all the rollers or from the front roller only. Upper rollers 5, 7, 8 are held in bearings 9, 10, 11 by springs 16 so that the rollers and bearings may be raised together. Bearings 10, 11 are adjustably secured on a bar 14 engraved with a scale-denoting the distance between rollers 7, 8. A pin 13 on the bar 14 acts as a pivot for the bar when it is raised in association with the casing 23 by means of a frame member 30 pivoted to the casing. The casing 23 also supports the loading means comprising a spring 49 in a frame 50 provided with an adjustable plug 52, a rod 54, lever 56, 58 and lever 36 in which the bearing 9 is formed and which bears upon the bar 14 through a roller 37. The front roller 5 may be raised independently of the other rollers by manually lifting the end 40 of the lever 36, whereupon a pin 41 is held by a catch 32. If desired, by releasing a catch 25, the casing 23 may be lifted carrying with it the loading mechanism, front roller 5, control roller 6 and, unless the frame 30 is released from the bar 14, rollers 7, 8. Instead of the helical spring 49, a flat laminated spring may be used or a substantially straight lever acted upon at one end by a spring may be pivoted to the casing 23 and the lever 36.
