Abstract

702,784. Roller weighthing arrangements. CASABLANCAS HIGH DRAFT CO., Ltd. July 1. 1952 [July 11, 1951], No. 16484/51. Class 120(2) In a spinning machine wherein the top drafting roller weighting means comprises a saddle assembly, a link member 14 is pivoted at 16 to the saddle assembly and at 17a to a coupler member 17 the lower part of which at 17b engages the weight hook 18. The saddle assembly comprises forward and rear saddles 11 and 12 pivoted in bifurcated arms of a bridge member 13, which is also provided with a slot 13c. in which is housed the link 14 and coupler 17. A coiled spring 19 provides the weighting force when the link 14 is in the position shown. By rotating the link 14 the load may be relieved, a stop 18b being provided upon which the weight hook 18 rests. The loading on the front rollers may be relieved independently by raising the saddle 11 which will then pivot about the roller shaft 2. A finger piece 11b is provided on the saddle 11, and a pawl 23, pivoted at 22 engages a groove 21 to hold the saddle 11 in the raised position.
