Abstract

729,084. Roller weighting mechanism. CASABLANCAS HIGH DRAFT CO., Ltd. Dec. 23, 1953 [Jan. 23, 1953], No. 2051/53. Class 120(2). A roller weighting means has a first saddle adapted to weight top rollers in the front and second roller lines and a second saddle adapted to weight top rollers in each rearward line and pivotally connected to the first saddle, the whole assembly being arranged to slide rearwardly from a fully operative weighting position to a retained rearward weighting position in which the front roller line is relieved of pressure, means also being provided to limit the downward displacement of the front end of said first saddle in said rearward weighting position. In the arrangement shown the second saddle part 7 is pivoted to the first saddle 5 by a lug 9 and pin 10 and carries by a pivot pin 12 a weighting hook 11. The whole assembly can be lifted slightly and slid rearwardly by means of a finger piece 7e at the front of the second saddle 7 until a transverse recess 5f in the under surface of the first saddle 5 engages the roller neck 2a. When this occurs the forward end of saddle 5 will be clear of the front roller neck 1a and will drop until the projection 5b abuts against the front edge of the weighting hook 11.
