Abstract
1326902 Feeding sheets RICOH KK 21 Oct 1970 [15 Nov 1969 (2)] 49888/70 Heading B8R A pile table 1, pivotally mounted on a printing or copying machine 3, is provided with pivotally mounted sheet retaining arms 8 having portions 8a, Fig. 2, which press on the front corners of the pile to prevent double separation. A pivotally mounted member 27b is movable to an operative position to engage projections 8b of the retaining arms and so raise the arms to a position permitting the insertion of a fresh pile. The sheets are separated from the pile by a friction roller 18 which may be raised to position 18A (shown dotted) during pile replacement. The member 27b is lockable in its operative position by engagement of extension 25a with a portion 28a of a lever 28. As the roller 18 is lowered a pin 29 on roller arm 19 strikes extension 28b of the lever 28 and releases the member 27b thus permitting the retaining arms to engage the pile. The table 1 may be pivoted to a raised position causing lever 30a to engage extension 28b and lower the retaining arms.
