Abstract

1,206,717. Feeding sheets. RICOH, K.K. 12 Feb., 1968 [16 Feb., 1967], No. 6764/68. Heading B8R. Stack aligning apparatus for sheet feed apparatus, wherein the top sheet is separated by friction rollers on a shaft carried on pivoted arms, comprises side alignment members A, each comprising a side plate a1 of metal, an upstanding portion a6 and a downwardly extending portion a3, which last passes through a slot in the pile table and can be clamped in the desired position. Front alignment members B each comprise a part b1 slidable vertically on the portion a6, a part b2 engaging the front of the stack and the corner of the top sheet and a portion b3 on which rests the friction roller shaft. When the shaft is raised, a spring acts through a bell-crank to raise the member B to allow a new stack to be inserted. In operation, the front comers of the top sheet are disengaged from the part b2 when the rollers drive the sheet forwardly.
