Abstract

1,240,164. Feeding sheets. MILLER PRINTING MACHINERY CO. 8 Aug., 1968 [25 Sept., 1967], No. 37905/68. Heading B8R. The top sheet 2 is separated from a pile 1 by suction members 3 which lift the rear edge and suction members 5 which move it forwardly to rollers 11, 12 and a feed belt 13, the sheet 2 being maintained separated from the underlying sheet by air blast from nozzles 6 which move forwardly with the members 5, upward movement of the sheet being limited by adjustable guide rods 7 supported at both ends. Holddown devices 4 move clear of the pile when the members 3 engage the top sheet, which in using snaps past leaf springs 54 projecting over the pile from supplemental hold-down devices 50.
