626,397. Weighting arrangements for drafting mechanism of textile machines. CASABLANCAS HIGH DRAFT CO., Ltd., and NOGUERA, J. April 9, 1947, No. 9466. [Class 120 (ii)] A roller weighting device for use in drafting mechanisms having at least three pairs of drafting rollers comprises a first saddle which bears on the top drafting rollers other than the front one and a second saddle which bears on the front top drafting roller and upon the first saddle and which is capable of displacement to a rearward position in which it can be retained thus allowing the top front roller to be readily removed. In the Fig., a saddle 8 rests on the end pivot 3a of the top roller of the intermediate rollers 3 and also on the end pivot 4a of the top roller' of the rear roller 4. A second saddle 9 rests on the end pivot 2a of the top roller of the front rollers 2. Secured to the saddle 9 is a weighting hook 10 which is connected to a weighting mechanism 12. The saddle 9 can be displaced to a rearward position, by means of its handle-like part 9a, where the shoulder 13a on the under surface of the saddle 9 engages the shoulder 15 in the upper surface of the saddle 8 and thus retains the saddle 9 in a position such that the roller 2 can be readily removed.
