Class 120(2) In a spinning machine having a threadsection tube displaceably mounted parallel to the drafting rollers, the tube is mounted by studs one at each of its ends, each stud being engaged in a separate mounting-member on the frame and being guided for arcuate movement so that the tube can be moved between operative and inoperative positions, the latter being located below and behind the former, and a spring is provided to hold the tube in operative position which does not urge it there, so that the tube will remain in the inoperative position without being held there. In Fig. 1, the studs move in arcuate slots 14 in curved members 15; members 15 on either side of a stand 1 are adjustably secured at 6 to a U-member 20 engaging over the back 1b of the stand. Each stud is held by a leaf-spring 19 secured in a recess 5 of the member 15, and the tube 7 communicates with a main by a pipe 16 and a rubber connection. In modifications of this form, the members 15 on either side of the stand are adjustably connected thereto by a front member which joins them or by webs. In other forms each stud snaps into a spring-lined recess 33, Fig. 12, in a hollow lever 30 pivoted at 31 to the stand. In the form shown in Fig. 12, a spring 37 encircling a pin 36 extends between part of the member and an enlarged head 36a of a pin 35 secured to the stand. In one position the head abuts the interior of the member at a and in the other at b, the pin working in a slot 40. The pin spring may be replaced by a leaf-spring extending between the pin 35 and the slot or arranged as shown in Fig. 10. The hollow lever 30 may be made in two parts 42, 48 so as to be adjustable in length.
