Class 120(2) In a weighting device, for the simultaneous loading of the top rollers of a drawing head of a textile machine by means of fluid pressure, a box-like arm is pivotally mounted at the rear of the drawing head and extends from the rear to the front thereof and the upper part of the arm is formed into a pressure chamber by means of a diaphragm with which, members for transmitting pressure to the top rollers of the drawing head are in contact, whereby the pressure in the chamber is transmitted from the chamber to the top rollers. As shown the device comprises an arm 14 having a cover 10 which holds in position a diaphragm 18 so as to form a pressure tight chamber 20. An aperture 12 is formed in the cover 10 connecting it to some pressure source. The arm 14 carries sliding blocks 24 located above the top rollers K, K\ K<SP>2</SP>, &c. and the blocks are secured in their adjusted position by screws 26. Each block 24 is formed with a passage to receive a slidable member 30 against the head 32 of which the under surface of the diaphragm 18 bears. The lower end of each member 30 bears on its corresponding roller. Each arm 14 is locked in its operative position by a catch 46. As shown in Fig. 1, a weighting device B', B<SP>2</SP>, B<SP>3</SP>, &c. is arranged over each drawing head, each pair of weighting arms being connected by a rigid tube 38 and adjacent pairs being connected by flexible pipes 16 such that fluid under pressure is transmitted through the whole system. This arrangement also permits each pair of arms to be raised from their operative position independently of its neighbours. In a second embodiment the diaphragm acts on slidable levers, one arm of each lever being in contact with the diaphragm and the other being provided with a clip for engaging a neck on the corresponding roller. Also in this arrangement the fluid pressure is transmitted through a single tube. each arm being arranged to pivot about the tube and means being provided to put the fluid chamber in the arm in communication with the tube only when the arm is in its operative position.
