712,810. Coupling chairs in rows. WIRTH, A. Oct. 22, 1951, No. 16626/53. Divided out of 712,767. Class 52(2) Chairs such as described in Specification 712,767 are coupled together in rows by means of two separate devices, one connecting adjacent back frame members 30, 31 and the other connecting adjacent lower front members 33. The device 20 connecting the back frame members comprises a holder 21 having ends adapted to embrace partially the members 30, 31 and a pair of toggle arms 22, 23 connected together at 28 and having studs 26, 27 slidable in slots 24, 25 formed in the holder 21. The ends of the toggle arms are forked and are adapted to cooperate with the ends of the holder 21 to grip the back frame members 30, 31. The device 1 connecting the front members 33 comprises a wedge-shaped body 2 adapted to engage the members 33 and a part 3 slidable on the body 2 under the influence of a spring 16 so that it engages the front parts of the members 33 which are thus gripped between the body 2 and slide 3. The body 2 has a hooked part 4 which bears against the rear of the members 33.
