Abstract

555,801. Pliers. TORNBORG, J. E. R. M. Feb. 12, 1942, No. 1897. Convention date, Feb. 4, 1941. [Class 61 (ii)] One of the jaws 5 of a pair of tongs is pivoted freely about a pin 7 rigid with an eccentric 9 rotatably mounted in the jaw member 2 so that with the eccentric in the position shown the jaw may tilt and with the eccentric turned through 180 degrees the jaw is pulled down to contact with the seat 12 thus holding it fixed. The eccentric is held yieldingly in either position by a ball and catch 13 engaging depressions 14 and cushion springs 15 are interposed between jaw and jaw member.
