Abstract

830,853. Liquid meters. VEHICULES INDUSTRIELS ET D'EQUIPMENTS MECANIQUES (SAVIEM-LRS) S.A. DE. Jan. 15, 1958 [Jan. 23, 1957], No. 1431/58. Class 69 (2). A liquid metering device comprises a stationary cylinder block 3 having axial cylinders 21 with free pistons 22, admission and exhaust of liquid being controlled by a rotary valve 1 which is driven at a speed giving the desired rate of flow through the meter. An inlet port (not shown) communicates through the stationary cylinder block with an annular chamber 8 from which bores 11 provide communicacation via passages 27, 29 with one end of the cylinders. Corresponding bores, displaced 90 degrees from bores 11, provide communication with the other end of the cylinders. Exhaust from the cylinders takes place through passages 30, 28 and bores 13 of the valve, and thence through bearings 2, a chamber 17 or 18 and a passage 19 to an exhaust port 20. The stroke of each piston is adjusted by a stop 23 bearing against a common adjustable plate 24.
