Abstract

641,841. Reciprocating pumps. HIGGENS, C. C., and EYRE SMELTING CO., Ltd. March 19, 1948, No. 8237. [Class 102(i)] [Also in Group XXXIV] A double acting lubricating pump A comprises two plungers 20, 20a disposed in aligned bores 18b, 18c having inlet ports (not shown) fitted with non-return valves. The plungers 20, 20a are connected to a rack member 21 sliding in a slotted plate 18d, the rack engaging a toothed wheel 22 secured to a shaft 22a. The pump may be manually operated by means of a lever secured to shaft 22a, or it may be power driven. An interchangeable supply vessel 19 is mounted on the casting 18, and contains a spring-pressed plunger 19d. The pump is used to supply lubricant alternately through two lines feeding distributing devices each of which comprises a block containing a valve piston and an impeller piston disposed in parellel cylindrical bores.
