910,889. Reciprocating pumps. ARMSTRONG PATENTS CO. Ltd. June 17, 1960 [June 18, 1959], No. 20890/59. Class 102(1). [Also in Group XXIX] An hydraulic pump, which may have incorporated in its base a manually operated valve arrangement for controlling a double-acting jack (see Group XXIX), consists of a pair of upwardly spring-loaded pistons 14 operated through connecting rods 16, coacting with stops 26, by crank plates 18 on a splined shaft 20 which is rocked by a hand lever or by a powerdriven cam, &c. mechanism. The pistons have bores 28 opening to a reservoir 40, which may be enlarged as at 10a and are fitted with spring- loaded non-return valves 34. The two cylinders discharge into a common outlet through spring- loaded delivery valves 44. The reservoir may contain a filter through which returning liquid is passed.
