989,642. Reciprocating metering pump. SIMON-CARVES Ltd. March 4, 1963 [March 24, 1962], No. 11345/62. Heading F1A. In a reciprocating metering pump, a crank 17 is rotated to reciprocate a piston 32 through a link 21 and a platform 24 sliding on a rod 26 and a valve chamber 36 is in communication with a combined liquid inlet and outlet 33 in the cylinder 30. Liquid is supplied through a pipe 41 and fed through a pipe 42 to a container for a second liquid or added to a flow circuit. The piston stroke may be varied by adjustment of a screw 18. The cylinder may be graduated and of glass to facilitate sterilization.
