A pump for accurately metering volatile, viscous or corrosive liquids comprises a piston 1 actuated by compressed air against a spring 4 and a shuttle valve 5, e. g. P. T. F. E., moved by compressed air to connect the pumping chamber 9 to outlet 12 and by spring 7 to connect chamber 9 to inlet 11. The piston stroke is determined by an adjustable stop 3. The compressed air is supplied so that the pump piston and valve reciprocate in synchronism and with a desired phase difference.
