Abstract
1,057,860. Reciprocating pumps. F. ORLITA, [trading as ORLITA KOMM.-GES]. Dec.3, 1963 [Dec.4, 1962], No.47783/63. Heading F1A. A diaphragm pump comprises a diaphragm 7 defining a pumping chamber 6 with suction and delivery valves 8, 9, and actuated through a liquid column 3 by a rotating and reciprocating piston 12 having a through passage 18, 19, which registers with an axial slot 20 at the end of the suction stroke to connect the liquid column to a reservoir 17. The delivery stroke end position of piston 12 is maintained constant but the suction stroke end position may be varied to vary the pump output. A threaded ring 16 locating cylinder 13 may be tightened to reduce the clearance between the cylinder and piston 12.
