655,404. Oscillating-cylinder pumps. EUREKA WILLIAMS CORPORATION. Sept. 22, 1947, No. 25700. Convention date, Oct. 28, 1946. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, April 8, 1948.] [Class 102 (i)] [Also in Groups XXVI and XXIX] An oscillating cylinder pump comprises a cylinder block 66 in which reciprocates a piston 68 actuated by an eccentric 70. The cylinder block has a projection 226 that fits in an eccentric bore 230 in driving shaft 120. A ball 232 is fitted between the bottom of the bore 230 and the projection 226 and transmits the thrust of the spring 290 to press the cylinder block against the face 234. The face 234 has inlet and outlet ports 74, 76 which cooperate with a port 72 leading from the cylinder. A gear wheel 246 on shaft 120 drives gear wheel 148 on the shaft 244 on which the eccentric 70 is mounted. A member 256 is mounted in the shaft; 244 and has an inclined surface 258 that engages a pin 260 that projects through the shaft 244 to engage the eccentric. Movement of the member 256 against the spring 274 by the threaded member 122 adjusts the pin 260 and the throw of the eccentric against the spring 262. The gears 246, 248 act as a gear pump to feed the oscillating cylinder pump.
