Abstract
683,743. Deep well pumps. EISENWERK WULFEL. Feb. 28, 1951 [April 14, 1950], No. 4854/51. Class 102 (i). The piston of a deep well pump is actuated by endless chains 3 connected to a crosshead 5 and passing over sprockets 2 driven by an electric motor 8 through gearing. The first elements 9<SP>1</SP> and 10' of hydraulic couplings are mounted on a shaft 7 driven by the motor and the second element 9" of one coupling is connected through gearing to the shaft 6 and the second element 10<SP>11</SP> of the other coupling is connected through a reversing train 13 to the shaft 6. A stop on the crosshead co-operates with adjustable stops 15, 74 that are connected to a lever 19 that alternately renders operative one or other of the hydraulic couplings.
