235,306. Shaw, H. S. Hele-, and Beacham, T. E. March 12, 1924. Revolving-cylinder pumps.-In a variable speed hydraulic transmission gear comprising radial revolving cylinder pumps and motors, the pump cylinder body is driven by a source of power and the pistons are operativelv connected to a fixedstroke crank 101, Fig. 1, bearings 133 are interposed between the crankshaft 106 and the cylinder block and the crankshaft forms the distributing valve. Conduits 147, 148 which may be fitted with shut off valves connect the pump with a variable stroke motor of similar construction, and by-pass and reversing valve 152 is provided. The motor shaft 160 is geared to a shaft 164 connected by gearing with the pump crankshaft. In a modified form, the pump and motor shafts 106, 160, Fig. 3, are in alignment and are connected through gearing 107, 108, 109.
