Abstract

252,732. Schneider, A. May 28, 1925, [Convention date]. Clutches and speed-varying mechanism; liquid- .pressure engines. - Hydraulic variable speed transmission apparatus comprises a cylinder block carried by the driven shaft 7, Fig. 1, and having primary and secondary cylinders, the pistons 26, Fig. 3, of the primary cylinders being connected to a plate 10 mounted on a crankpin 9 of the driving shaft 6, and the pistons 35 of the secondary - cylinders being connected to a rotor 32 of variable eccentricity. The plate 10 is linked to the driven shaft, the cylinder block is linked to the rotor, and the rotor has flanges 33 mounted in rings 80 having shoes slidable in fixed guides 29, the rings being adjusted by means of a shaft 59 operated by a servomotor. The distributing valve comprises recesses 42, 43 in the driving shaft, a ported sleeve 47, and an extension from the cylinder block provided with conduits 44, 45, and with a short-circuiting bore controlled by a slidable plug 55.
