Abstract

570,119. Hydraulic transmission of power. TRIGGS, W. W. (Schweizerische Lokomotiv - und Maschinenfabrik). Aug. 3, 1943, No. 12539. [Class 69 (ii)] In a hydraulic gear in which a radial cylinder pump 2 and motor 3 are housed in a common rotatable casing 4 to which the pistons are connected and the motor cylinder is rotatably mounted on a plug 13 carried by the fixed casing 1, inlet and outlet ports for the cylinders are arranged in the cylinder bearings Sa and 13. The plug 13 is adjustable radially to vary the motor piston stroke and is guided by radial extensions which may co-operate with cylinders in the casing 1 to provide hydraulic adjustment. The pump cylinders are mounted on a cranked portion 8a of the driving shaft and the motor and pump cylinders are both connected as by crank, arms 2a to the casing 4 which carries the driven shaft 31. Air vessels 18, 19 are arranged in the suction and delivery conduits which may be connected by a valve 32. In a modification, the casing 4 and driven shafts are connected by a gear train.
