Rotary cylindrical v a l v e s ; toothed gears.-In a fluid motor employing the means for conversion of reciprocating and rotary motion described in Specification 118,098, the turning moment on the rotary wobbler plate 1 due to the pressures A, C of opposite pairs of pistons such as 5a, 5<c> is balanced by the opposite moment due to the fluid pressures A<1>, C' on the surfaces of the rotary valves 20, 21 which are mounted on the shaft 2 of the plate 1. Thrust bearings 30, 31, with spherical castings are provided between the plate 1 and the valves. In the form shown in Fig. 5, suitable for an internal-combustion engine, the valves are driven from the shaft 2 through toothed gearing 46, 47, 48, 51.
