Abstract

503,148. Reciprocating pumps; liquidpressure engines. VARIABLE SPEED GEAR, Ltd., and INGOLDBY, M. K. Oct. 1, 1937, No. 26636. [Class 102 (i)] [Also in Group XXIX] A rotary plate valve for a unidirectional or reversible swashplate pump or motor comprises two or more concentric members 10,11, springs 22 pressing them apart, and positive driving means 12 between successive members, the areas 27, 28 subjected to liquid pressure and effective to hold the valve on its seat being not less than a half of and not greater than the running faces 19, 21. Cup packings 23 may be arranged between the members and may be expanded by liquid pressure or by a spring of U-shape. The valve is driven by an eccentric 13 on the shaft 14 and controls cylinder parts 20. The member 11 bears on the cover 16. Specifications 503,149, [Group XXVI], and 503,150 are referred to.
