[Class 102 (i)] [Also in Groups XXVI and XXVII] In a swash plate or like fluid pressure engine or pump, especially a Diesel engine, comprising two facing sets of parallel cylinders having common double ended pistons and disposed about a main shaft which carries the driving mechanism in the space between the two sets of cylinders, the mass of the pistons is so determined for the required speed, that the peaks of the resultant thrust on the mechanism are about half as heavy and twice as numerous as the peaks of the fluid pressure.
