Abstract

1360453 Hydraulic reciprocating pumps and motors KLOCKNER-WERKE AG 7 Oct 1971 [28 Oct 1970] 46768/71 Heading F1A A ported valve plate 11 for a reversible hydraulic pump or motor of axial or radial piston type has a flat or spherical front face 12 with kidney ports 16, an annular groove 23 connected to ambient pressure by passages 24, and hydrostatic cushions 26, 27 connected via constrictions respectively to each end of the kidney ports and the valve plate passages 22 leading to the ports, the back face 13 of the plate having balancing pistons 14 in cylinders arranged adjacent the opposed ends of the kidney ports 16, the cylinders being connected to the opposite ports, as shown, to provide hydraulic balancing of the valve plate. Springs 15 bias the valve plate against the cylinder block during starting. Casing 3 incorporates an auxiliary pump 7 and valve 6.
