Abstract

1398583 Hydraulic reciprocating piston machines KLOCKNER-WERKE AG 17 Nov 1972 [20 Nov 1971] 53087/72 Heading F1A A valve plate for a reversible, radial or axial piston, rotary cylinder block hydraulic machine has high and low pressure kidney ports 3, an annular groove 7 connected to atmosphere by passages 8 and hydrostatic bearings formed by two pairs of arcuate grooves 10, 11, the grooves of each pair being connected respectively to a different one of the ports 3 via throttled passages formed by pistons in cylinders 13 on the back of the valve plate, with the grooves 11 each being connected to a different one of the ports 3. Each cylinder 13 is connected to the port 3 furthest from it, Fig. 2 (not shown), the port pressures acting on the pistons in the cylinders to bias the valve plate towards the cylinder block. Springs mounted in recesses in the back of the valve plate also bias the valve plate towards the cylinder block.
