Abstract

1419454 Reciprocating pumps and motors ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 23 July 1973 [22 July 1972] 34999/73 Heading F1A In a radial piston pump or motor comprising a cylinder block 5 rotatable on a fixed pintle valve 4 having high and low pressure control ports 21, 22 which successively communicate with cylinder ports 13, the control ports are separated by webs 29, 30 having balancing recesses 31-33 and 39-41 which cyclically communicate with the ports 13 and, with reference to the circumferential direction of the pintle, are laterally offset with respect to the control ports. Each cylinder port 13 has lateral grooves 14, 15 and these successively communicate with grooves 35-37 and ducts 45, 46, 49, 50 leading into the recesses. During part of the time each port 13 is in communication with a recess it is also in communication with one or other of the control ports 21, 22, either directly, or via a pilot groove 51 or 52. A second embodiment, Fig. 3 (not shown) has the recess and groove configuration of the web 29 shown, duplicated for the web 30. A third embodiment, Fig. 4 (not shown), has the recesses of each web arranged in two pairs, the recesses of each pair being laterally offset one behind the other in the lateral direction.
