Abstract

1337070 Reciprocating rotors or pumps SHIMADZU SEISAKUSHO Ltd 29 Dec 1971 [30 Dec 1970] 60440/71 Heading F1A A hydraulic motor or pump comprises a cylinder block 17 mounted on an eccentric 15 and having radial pistons 30 slidably engaging flat casing surfaces 31, the eccentric 15 and shaft 11 being rotatable and the casing 14 fixed, or vice versa, and the pistons being hydrostatically balanced by working liquid supplied to piston recesses 41 via passages 42. Oscillation of the cylinder block is permitted by pins 50 ceoperating with recesses 51. Liquid is distributed through ports 18, 19 in the eccentric and passages 63, 64 and grooves 65, 66 in shaft 11. The pistons have sealing rings 36 and may be spring- loaded, as shown. Leakage in the casing interior passes out through passages 73, 74 which also may be used for pressurizing the casing interior to move the pistons into their cylinders for idling of the motor or pump. The eccentric and cylinder block bore may be frusto-conical to improve sealing and the block may be spring biased on to the eccentric, the axial load on the shaft being hydraulically balanced Fig. 8 (not shown). Hydrostatic balancing of the block on the eccentric also is provided by suitable dimensioning of the parts.
