Abstract

1,190,114. Hydrostatic transmission. VARSPE DI SPEGGIORIN & C., S.A.S. 12 March, 1968 [1 April, 1967], No. 12104/68. Heading F2C. In a hydrostatic transmission wherein pump and motor units each have radial pistons 11, 15 engaging freely rotatable eccentric rings 12, 16 and are carried by input and output cylinder blocks 4, 6 freely rotatable on a fixed shaft 9 having arcuate inlet and outlet ports (26, 27) connected by pairs of ducts 28, 29, a vane-type make-up pump 38 coaxial with the pump 4 and driven by the input shaft 1 supplies makeup oil at a pressure determined by a relief valve (45), Fig. 3 (not shown), to the ducts 28, 29 through one-way valves 34, 35. The eccentricity of one or both of the rings 12, 16 may be variable. As shown, the ring 16 has a fixed eccentricity and is mounted by a roller bearing 17 in a fixed casing 10 whilst the ring 12 is mounted by a roller bearing 13 within a ring 19 which is moved transversely by a hand wheel (24), Fig. 2 (not shown), to vary the eccentricity of the ring 12. High-pressure relief valves (51, 52) are provided in the lines 28, 29 respectively. Cooling fins are provided on the casing 10. The cylinder blocks 4, 6 are connected to driving and driven shafts 1, 2 by resilient toothed couplings.
