Abstract

1,045,621. Hydraulic couplings. H. S. GANDHI, H. S. GANDHI, and K. S. GANDHI, [trading as HARISH ENGINEERING WORKS]. Jan. 2, 1964 [Jan. 2, 1963], No. 202/64. Heading F2C. A variable capacity radial piston-type pump 3 having a rotating input driven cylinder block 3A and a stationary peripheral ring 6 on which the pistons bear through a ball or roller bearing 3F, delivers oil through a passage 2B in a stationary internal block 2 to a similar output motor 4, oil returning to the pump through a passage 2D. The speed ratio is regulated by varying the eccentricity of the peripheral rings 6, 6B guided in slots, by hand screws or eccentrics. Both the oil passages 2B, 2D are connected to the sump by combined non-return and excess pressure relief valves V, comprising balls seating in spring-loaded pistons. Reverse is obtained by reversing the input or giving opposite eccentricity to the pump ring 6. A cooling fan 8 is provided.
