Abstract

1347332 Reciprocating pumps and motors KAWASAKI JUKOGYO KK 23 Aug 1971 [25 Aug 1970] 39508/71 Heading F1A In a radial piston pump or motor comprising a rotary cylinder block 2 on a shaft 1 the pistons 3 are connected to eccentrics 4 by shafts 8 and the eccentrics have rings 6 in rolling engagement with track rings 7 in the casing, slip between rings 6 and 7 being prevented either by frictional engagement between rings 6 and 7 or by meshing of gear teeth 5 on eccentrics 4 with a gear 9 fixed to casing 10, 11, Fig.1. Alternatively, the pistons 29, Fig. 5, are connected to shafts 31 by eccentrically mounted shaft 30, shafts 31 engaging track rings 34 via bearings 33, 33' and carrying pinions 32 meshing with externally toothed rings 36 supported in casing 35. A valve plate 14 provides fluid distribution between cylinder passages 17 and inlet and outlet connections 23, 24. Pockets 20 corresponding with valve plate ports 15, 16 provide pressure balancing of the cylinder block. Rings 6 and 33 may be shaped to produce constant torque, and zero piston stroke adjacent T.D.C. and B.D.C. during inlet and outlet changeover, Figs. 6 to 10 (not shown).
